Weiss, et al. v. National Westminster Bank, PLC

Weiss, et al. v. National Westminster Bank, PLC, CV-05-4622 (CPS) (KAM) (E.D.N.Y.) – Steven Steingard & Stephen H. Schwartz serve as Litigation Counsel for the plaintiffs, United States citizens, their estates, survivors and heirs who were victims of terrorist attacks in Israel in this action currently before the Honorable Dora Lizette Irizzary. The claims are brought under the Anti-Terrorism Act and seek treble damages from National Westminster Bank, PLC, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland. The complaint alleges that National Westminster Bank provided financial services to Interpal, a Specially Designated Global Terrorist that allegedly transfers funds to HAMAS-controlled charities in the Palestinian-controlled territories and that HAMAS was responsible for attacks set forth in the complaint. A motion to dismiss the complaint was denied by Judge Sifton and the litigation is ongoing.
