Antitrust Violations Alleged Against Pork Producers

Kohn, Swift & Graf, P.C. is investigating a possible antitrust violation by the major producers of pork products.  It has been alleged that from at least 2007 through the present, the major pork producers colluded with each other to reduce pork production in the United States, thereby causing the price of pork products to be artificially inflated.  Pork products includes fresh and frozen pork meat as well as smoked pork products, such as bacon, ham and sausage.

The major pork producers in the United States include:

HORMEL FOODS CORPORATION

INDIANA PACKERS CORPORATION

JBS USA

SEABOARD FOODS, LLC

SMITHFIELD FOODS, INC.

TRIUMPH FOODS, LLC

TYSON FOODS, INC.

CLEMENS FOOD GROUP, LLC

If you purchased pork products directly from one of the above producers during the time mentioned above, you may have a claim for any overcharges resulting from the major pork producers’ alleged anticompetitive behavior.
