August 30, 2018- Kohn, Swift & Graf, P.C. is currently investigating McDonald’s failure to obtain proper authorization in violation of the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Job seekers have claimed that the fast food company violated federal law when it conducted background checks on applicants. Applicants were subject to a background check upon applying to McDonald’s, which contained personal, private, and sensitive information. Candidates have alleged that they were not properly notified of the consumer report that the company pulled as part of the application process because of other distracting information included in the hiring paperwork. Candidates believe they should have been provided with a disclosure from McDonald’s indicating that the company was going to perform a background check.
Additionally, the company failed to receive the appropriate authorization from applicants in order to obtain the consumer report.
If you or someone you know is currently employed or seeking employment with McDonald’s and was not provided proper disclosure and authorization under the FCRA, please contact us. All consultations are free of charge. You may be eligible to be included in a Class Action Lawsuit for the McDonald’s violation of the FCRA.
