Ticketmaster Allows Scalping and Profits Twice

October 4, 2018- Kohn, Swift & Graf is currently investigating Ticketmaster and parent company, Live National Entertainment, for unlawful and unfair business practices relating to Ticketmaster’s secondary market.

Ticketmaster Allows scalping and profits twice

Ticketmaster’s TradeDesk platform allows professional ticket resellers (“scalpers”) to buy Ticketmaster tickets and resell them at a higher price, with Ticketmaster receiving a portion of the proceeds. It’s being alleged that Ticketmaster operates its own ticket scalping program and profits not once on the fees of the initial ticket sale to scalpers, but twice on the fees captured during the resale made on TradeDesk.

It is further being alleged that Ticketmaster actively brings scalpers into its program, violating the company’s own stated policies. With this ticketing platform, scalpers face little to no consequences when it comes to the ticket buying and selling process. Additionally, they have denied these practices, despite what their representatives came forward and said.
