KSG Investigates Marriott Data Breach

November 30, 2018- Marriott International is the latest company to announce that it was hacked and that consumers’ information may be at risk.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

Marriott has reported that its guest reservation system was hacked; A system that contained personal information regarding approximately 500 million guests.  The hackers accessed information for a group of Marriott’s chain hotels, which included;

  • St. Regis

  • Westin Hotels & Resorts

  • Sheraton Hotels & Resorts

  • W Hotels

  • Element Hotels

  • Aloft Hotels

  • The Luxury Collection

  • Four Points by Sheraton

  • Design Hotels

The hack, which took place in 2014, was only identified this past week. Marriott believes that names, phone numbers, email addresses, passport information and more was stolen. Marriott is encouraging all past guests to change their password and to review their credit card transactions.
