HealthEquity and Further by HealthEquity Data Breach – Personally Identifiable and Protected Healthcare Information Compromised.

Kohn Swift & Graf is investigating a data breach of healthcare benefit companies HealthEquity and Further by HealthEquity, which have exposed the personally identifiable and private health information of 4.3 million people to a third party.

On June 26, 2024, HealthEquity confirmed that customer’s data was compromised in March.

The compromised personally identifiable and healthcare information includes customer’s: “First name, last name, address, telephone number, employee ID, employer, social security number, health card number, health plan member number, dependent information (for general contact information only), HealthEquity benefit type, diagnoses, prescription details, and payment card information (but not payment card number), and / or HealthEquity account type.”

This data breach has therefore exposed extremely sensitive information to unauthorized persons.

May I File a Lawsuit Against HealthEquity?

If you are or were a HealthEquity or Further by HealthEquity customer your information may have been accessed by or disclosed to an unauthorized person or persons and you may be eligible to file a lawsuit. HealthEquity has stated that it will begin notifying customers on August 9, 2024 if HealthEquity concluded that their information has been stolen.
