Alternator Manufacturers Settle $9.6 Million Price-fixing Class Action Lawsuit
Direct purchasers of alternators have received preliminary approval of settlements with manufacturers Mitsubishi, Hitachi, and DENSO totaling $9,606,594. Kohn, Swift & Graf is one of the co-lead counsels for this direct purchaser class. The manufacturers allegedly conspired to raise, fix, maintain, and stabilize prices, rig bids, and allocate the supply of alternators sold in the United States, in violation of federal antitrust laws.
CLASS DETAILS
The settlements affect those who purchased alternators in the U.S. between January 1, 2000 and March 12, 2018 directly from any of the following entities:
Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd., Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc. ,Hitachi, Ltd., DENSO Corporation, DENSO International America, Inc., DENSO Products and Services Americas, Inc. (formerly DENSO Sales California, Inc.), DENSO International Korea Corporation (merger of DENSO International Korea Corporation and DENSO Korea Automotive Corporation), Mitsuba Corporation, American Mitsuba Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric US Holdings, Inc. ,Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc., Robert Bosch GmbH, Robert Bosch LLC, Nikko Electric Indus., Sawafuji Electric Co., Ltd., Valeo S.A.
CLAIM INFORMATION
Potential class members were mailed a claim form on August 8, 2019 that explains how they can remain in the settlement classes and claim proceeds from the settlements. This notice and other important documents related to the settlements can be accessed online at www.AutoPartsAntitrustLitigation.com/Alternators, by calling 1-888-526-1272, or by writing to Alternators Direct Purchaser Antitrust Litigation, P.O. Box 6727, Portland, OR 97228-6727. If you believe you are a member of Mitsubishi Electric, HIAMS, or DENSO settlement classes, you are urged to obtain a copy of the notice.
A final approval hearing will be held in October to determine whether the Court approves the proposed settlements, distribution plans for class members, and fee and expense awards.
