OVERVIEW
Because “[b]enzene is a known human carcinogen,” Valisure filed a Citizen’s petition with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, in which it asked the FDA to take action with respect to sunscreens containing benzene, including a recall of certain products.
Many Neutrogena products were found by Valisure to contain more than .36ppm of Benzene, including: Ultra Sheer Weightless Sunscreen Spray, SPF 100+, Ultra Sheer Weightless Sunscreen Spray, SPF 70, Beach Defense Oil-Free Body Sunscreen Spray – SPF 100, Invisible Daily Defense Body Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 60+, Beach Defense Spray Body Sunscreen SPF 50, and CoolDry Sport Water-Resistant Sunscreen Spray SPF 70.
If you purchased a Neutrogena sunscreen product and would like to discuss your legal rights, please contact Aarthi Manohar at amanohar@kohnswift.com or Zahra Dean at zdean@kohnswift.com or at (215) 238-1700. Because of the pandemic we may be working remotely, so please leave a message and we will return your call promptly.
