AUTOMOTIVE PARTS ANTITRUST LITIGATION

Kohn Swift has served as co-lead counsel since 2012 in 28 direct purchaser cases alleging price fixing and bid rigging for numerous automotive parts. The criminal investigation has been described as the largest in Department of Justice history. To date, Kohn Swift and its co-counsel have obtained over $359.5 million in recoveries.

Kohn Swift was selected to serve as co-lead counsel for a class of direct purchasers alleging price fixing of Automotive Refinishing Paint. Settlements totaling $105.75 million were achieved for plaintiffs and the class.

Douglas Abrahams’ practice emphasizes complex civil litigation.

He has participated in various antitrust class and individual actions, the litigation of consumer class actions, securities class, and derivative actions. Doug was designated to serve as co-counsel for the class in Arden Architectural Specialties, Inc. v. Exolon-ESK Company (W.D.N.Y.) and Stewart v. Associates Consumer Discount Company (E.D. Pa.)

Mr. Abrahams graduated with a B.A. in history from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1979. He graduated from Temple University School of Law in 1984.

Immediately prior to joining Kohn Swift, Mr. Abrahams worked as an enforcement attorney in the Philadelphia Regional Office of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. He also served as law clerk to the Honorable Ethan Allen Doty of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas from 1984-1986.
