Plaintiffs allege that class members paid more for artificial abrasive grain as a result of a conspiracy to fix prices of such products by defendants Norton Company, Washington Mills Electro Minerals Corporation and Exolon-ESK. Settlements totaling $11.6 million in cash and credit certificates have been reached with the defendants. The court held a hearing in Buffalo, New York on December 21, 2005, to consider whether the proposed settlements between the class and the defendants should be approved.
