In re Automotive Refinishing Paint Antitrust Litigation, MDL Docket No. 1426 (E.D. Pa.) KSG served as co-lead counsel for the class in an antitrust action on behalf of direct purchasers of automotive refinishing paint from defendants during the period from January 1, 1993 to December 31, 2000. Plaintiffs allege that class members (primarily distributors and body shops) paid more for automotive refinishing paint as a result of a conspiracy to fix prices of paint by defendants. The defendants included PPG Industries, E.I. DuPont de Nemours, Sherwin-Williams, BASF and Akzo Nobel Coatings. Settlements totaling $105.75 million were achieved for plaintiffs and the class.
