ChristianaCare Third-Party Vendor Data Breach Investigation

Kohn, Swift & Graf, P.C. is investigating a prospective class action against ChristianaCare’s third party vendor Oracle Health for a data breach that exposed the sensitive health information of ChristianaCare patients.

Oracle Health, formerly known as Cerner, recently experienced a cybersecurity breach that impacted systems used by several healthcare providers, including ChristianaCare. In its data breach notice, ChristianaCare explained that while its own systems and operations were not compromised, sensitive patient data stored by Oracle Health may have been exposed. Letters are being sent to ChristianaCare patients whose information may have been compromised. The compromised data may include names, Social Security numbers, and medical-record information such as diagnoses, treatments, test results, and other clinical details.

At Kohn, Swift & Graf, we believe data security is a fundamental responsibility. Companies that collect and store personal information must do everything possible to protect it. When they fail, the consequences can be devastating, from identity theft and fraudulent activity to lasting reputational harm.

Our firm has successfully represented clients in complex data breach and privacy class actions, holding responsible parties accountable for failing to safeguard sensitive data. We are now looking into whether ChristianaCare and Oracle Health failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures to prevent this breach and whether affected individuals are entitled to compensation.

If your data was exposed in the ChristianaCare breach and you want to understand your legal rights, contact us today for a free and confidential consultation to discuss your eligibility to participate in a potential class actions lawsuit against ChristianaCare and Oracle Health.
