Pa. House Advances Bills That Allow Childhood Abuse Survivors Two Years to Sue
The Pennsylvania House has advanced two bills which would open a two-year lookback window in the state for childhood abuse survivors. The bills will now progress to the Senate for review. In addition to allowing victims to file usually time-barred claims, they would also create exceptions to damages caps and governmental immunities within the two-year window. The General Assembly passed a similar constitutional amendment in the 2019-20 session, but an administrative error disqualified the issue from the 2019 May primary vote and ultimately derailed the amendment’s progress.
