Starter Manufacturers Settle $10.8 Million Price-Fixing Class Action Lawsuit
Direct purchasers of starters have received preliminary approval of settlements with manufacturers Mitsubishi, Hitachi, DENSO and MITSUBA totaling $10,865,004. Kohn, Swift & Graf is one of the co-lead counsels for this direct purchaser class.
The manufacturers allegedly conspired to raise, fix, maintain, and stabilize prices, rig bids, and allocate the supply of starters sold in the United States, in violation of federal antitrust laws.
CLASS DETAILS
The settlements affect those who purchased starters in the U.S. between January 1, 2000 and March 12, 2018 directly from any of the following entities:
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric US Holdings, Inc., Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc., Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd.; Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc., DENSO Corporation, DENSO International America, Inc., MITSUBA Corporation, American Mitsuba Corporation, Nikko Electric Indus., or Robert Bosch GmbH.
CLAIM INFORMATION
Potential class members were mailed a notice of proposed settlements on June 27, 2019 that explains the settlements, as well as the options available to class members, in greater detail. This notice and other important documents related to the settlements can be accessed online at www.AutoPartsAntitrustLitigation.com/Starters, by calling 1-877-670-0867, or by writing to Starters Direct Purchaser Antitrust Litigation, P.O. Box 3076, Portland, OR 97208-3076. If you believe you are a member of the any of the aforementioned settlement classes, you are urged to obtain a copy of the notice.
A final approval hearing will be held in October 2019 to determine whether the Court approves the proposed settlements, fee awards, and expense reimbursements.
