Windshield Wiper System Manufacturers Settle $6.2 Million Price-fixing Class Action Lawsuit
Direct purchasers of windshield wiper systems have received preliminary approval of settlements with manufacturers DENSO and MITSUBA totaling $6,216,176. Kohn, Swift & Grafis one of the co-lead counsels for this direct purchaser class. Mitsuba and DENSO conspired to raise, fix, maintain, and stabilize prices, rig bids, and allocate the supply of windshield wiper systems sold in the United States, in violation of federal antitrust laws.
CLASS DETAILS
The settlements affect those who purchased windshield wiper systems in the U.S. between January 1, 2000 and August 14, 2018 directly from any of the following entities:
ASMO Co. Ltd., DENSO Corporation, DENSO International America, Inc., American Mitsuba Corp., MITSUBA Corp., Robert Bosch GmbH, Bosch Electrical Drives Co., Ltd. (formerly Korea Automotive Corporation (KAMCO)), Valeo S.A.
CLAIM INFORMATION
Potential class members were mailed a claim form on August 8, 2019 that explains how they can remain in the settlement classes and claim proceeds from the settlements. This notice and other important documents related to the settlements can be accessed online at www.AutoPartsAntitrustLitigation.com/WindshieldWiperSystems, by calling 1-877-670-0952 or writing to Windshield Wiper Systems Direct Purchaser Antitrust Litigation, P.O. Box 2838, Portland, OR 97208-2838. If you believe you are a member of either of the MITSUBA or DENSO settlement classes, you are urged to obtain a copy of the notice.
A final approval hearing will be held in November 2019 to determine whether the Court approves the proposed settlements, distribution plans for class members, and fee and expense awards.
