July 10, 2019- Kohn, Swift & Graf, P.C. is currently investigating Ford Motor Company for allegedly advertising and selling vehicles with inaccurate fuel economy ratings. Lawsuits have been filed against Ford for violations of the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act and of state consumer protection laws.
FORD OVERSTATED FUEL ECONOMY RATINGS FOR ITS VEHICLES
It is alleged that Ford did not conform to EPA standards in the way it tested its vehicles’ road loads, which resulted in the company having overstated the miles per gallon fuel economy ratings for its vehicles, and ultimately has led to higher operating costs for consumers than they would have had the vehicles performed as advertised.
Current and former owners or lessees of model year 2017 through 2019 Ford automobiles, including the 2017 Ford Expedition, the 2019 Ford Ranger truck, and 2017-2019 Ford F-150 trucks are alleged to have been effected.
In addition, Ford announced on February 21, 2019 that its EPA fuel economy testing results were not accurate and, as a result, has become the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice with respect to its road load and efficiency calculations.
If you are a current or former owner or lessee of a 2017, 2018, or 2019 Ford automobile, your vehicle’s fuel efficiency may have misrepresented to you, and you may be paying higher operating costs than those advertised to you.
